Should Vegan Food Taste Like Meat?

Well there’s a question! And here’s my answer.

Meat doesn’t have a specific texture or flavour - it has lots of both texture AND flavour. But most meat tastes pretty bland unless it's cooked, browned, aged or seasoned with lashings of salt and pepper.

Veggies have tons more flavour when they’re raw and unseasoned, and knowing this is the light bulb moment that meat is often trying to taste like something it’s not, rather than the other way around.

If you disagree, try comparing a raw pork chop with fried bacon.

So what’s your all time favourite vegetable? Mine is the controversial Brussel Sprout!
